Tim Bitici Talks Finding & Styling Your Best Furry Fashion Pieces

Tim Bitici is a famous fashion editor and stylist based out of New York City. Fur is one of his favorite fabrics to work with, however Tim feels not too many people know how to style it properly. Fur is great for the winter months not only because it adds warmth, but it can also be the foundation for a whole outfit. For these reasons, Tim enjoys incorporating elements of fur into his photo shoots. He loves exotic furs like gray wolf, mink, and fox, however chic gray (silvery) and golden brown furs are two of his preferred go to options. Bitici’s “ultimate favorite” is oxblood fur; “It’s so rich and luxe, like Lindsey Wixson in Prada,” he adds.

Tim Bitici gives valuable advice to women on how to go to go about finding their best furry fashion pieces. He understands that some women are budget-conscious or are opposed to wearing real fur. Thus, he suggests they consider faux fur alternatives. He says that the best faux fur has different shades and tones mixed throughout the grain, making them look genuine. Tim also suggests investing in faux fur fashion pieces. He says, “Know which pieces can transcend the winter months: Top off baggy, distressed denim shorts with a furry vest, but don't wear fur boots in the summer.” Tim strongly advises to steer clear of dyed furs because of their “cheap” look “especially outlandish colors like pink” he says.

Bitici’s best recommendation on the maintenance of faux fur pieces is to keep them away from water. Tim says, “Avoid wearing faux-fur items in wet weather, as water and dampness can ruin them.” His choices for faux fur include G Star, Lanvin Paris and Juicy Couture.
